The invention relates to a method for intercropping of coreopsis under arid region apricot trees. The method comprises the steps of soil preparation, fertilization, seed treatment, seed sowing, fieldmanagement, pinching and seed harvesting. Coreopsis is planted by sufficiently utilizing the space under apricot tress, and the utilization efficiency for land, water, light and heat is improved; dueto intercropping of coreopsis, water and moisture can be reserved, the earth' s surface dust emission is fixed, and the ecological environment is improved; meanwhile, economic benefits are improved, and the rural income is improved. The novel underwood planting mode is provided for local farmers, and meanwhile the local sightseeing tour industry is driven. Compared with the prior art that wheat andcorn are planted under trees by local farmers, the planting income of coreopsis is three times that of wheat and corn. The relative planting technology requirement is low, the management cost is low, and the benefits are higher than those of planting of grain crops.
