The present invention relates to a composition comprising apigenin, chrysophanol, or a mixture thereof, as an active ingredient, and more specifically, to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating choriocarcinoma, comprising apigenin, chrysophanol, or a mixture thereof, as an active ingredient, and to a functional health food composition for preventing or treating choriocarcinoma, comprising apigenin, chrysophanol, or a mixture thereof, as an active ingredient. The compositions comprising apigenin, chrysophanol, or a mixture thereof, as an active ingredient according to the present invention are extracted from plants and can minimize toxicity inside a body and adverse side effects, compared to synthesized products; suppress proliferation and migration of choriocarcinoma cells; increase the number of apoptotic cells in a choriocarcinoma cell line in a dose-dependent manner; and may create a synergistic effect for apoptosis when administered in combination with a target inhibitor inhibiting PI3K/AKT or ERK1/2 signaling pathway, or an anti-cancer chemotherapy drug such as cisplatin and paclitaxel, and thus may be widely used in various fields including life science, medicine, and pharmaceuticals.COPYRIGHT KIPO 2019
