Stent for positioning in the bifurcation of a blood vessel comprises meshes, a distal and a proximal end, and a retaining element led through opposite meshes at the proximal end of the stent. Retaining element is a guide wire which, with its distal end, is guided outside through two opposite meshes at the proximal end of the stent. Said stent may be a balloon-expandable stent.
