PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for detecting a risk of skin troubles, a detection reagent and a reagent for discriminating a skin condition to be used for the method, and a method for selecting cosmetic or quasi drug. SOLUTION : A method for detecting a risk of skin troubles in which one or more of the gene polymorphism selected from the group consisting of gene polymorphism expressed by a sequence from sequence number 1 to sequence number 2193 is detected from a biological sample of a subject, and in the case where the gene polymorphism is a specific allele type, it is determined that a risk of skin troubles in the subject is high. Further, a detection reagent includes a detection probe for detecting the gene polymorphism. Further, a reagent for discriminating a skin condition includes a detection probe for detecting the gene polymorphism, and is used for discriminating a skin condition. Further, a method for selecting cosmetic or quasi drug in which cosmetic or quasi drug is selected based on a result determined by the detection method.
