PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide methods and compositions for inhibiting the smooth muscles of the urinary bladder and reducing the frequency of urination. SOLUTION : The invention relates to the use of pharmaceutical compositions in producing medical drugs for treating nocturia in a subject. The pharmaceutical compositions comprise one or more prostaglandin pathway inhibitors, and an analgesic agent selected from the group consisting of one or more of acetaminophen and ibuprofen. The analgesic agent is acetaminophen or is acetaminophen and ibuprofen. The one or more prostaglandin pathway inhibitors are not an analgesic agent.
