The present invention provides a composition containing a licorice extract in which the content ratio of glycyrrhizin to liquiritin is respectively 1.5-1.8 to 1 by extracting licorice and then adding an excipient and spray drying the same. The composition containing the licorice extract of the present invention can be useful in pharmaceutical and food fields as a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating liver diseases or as a food composition for improving liver function.
