PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide preparation of a composition containing tocotrienols and other compounds, compositions produced by the method, and the use of the compositions in a dose effective in protection from effects of radiation and in mitigation of the effects of radiation. SOLUTION : A plant extract comprises δ-tocotrienol and γ-tocotrienol in a ratio between 2 : 1 and 10 : 1, where the total tocotrienols account for 15-95% of the composition, where tocopherols are less than 1% of the extract.
