PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method of quantitatively (objectively) measuring the intensity of hangover, a method of inducing hangover on test animals, a method of measuring potency of hangover restraining drugs, a method of screening hangover restraining drug, and a method of selecting alcoholic drink less likely to induce hangover.SOLUTION : A method of measuring the level of hangover comprises : (A) a step of administering ethanol to test animals and then reducing to substantial zero the alcohol concentrations in the blood of the animals in an active period; (B) a step of inducing a state of hangover on the animals in the active period by, after the administration of ethanol, substantially reducing the quantity of actions and/or spontaneous exercise quantity of the test animals; and (C) a step of measuring the quantity of actions and/or spontaneous exercise quantity of the test animals since the start of the active period.
