The group of inventions relates to biotechnology, pharmacy, medicine, cosmetology, and veterinary science and can be used for the prophylaxis, prevention and treatment of bacterial and viral diseases in humans and animals. It also relates to the production of a wide range of sanitary and hygienic products and drugs. Proposed are a thermostable composition with antiviral and antibacterial activity and the use thereof as a biologically active ingredient for producing sanitary and hygienic products and agents, as well as for protection against bacterial and viral infections. More particularly, the thermostable composition in the form of a lyophilizate comprises per 1 g of the composition : 0.03-0.12 mg human recombinant interferon gamma having activity of 500, 000 to 2, 000, 000 IU/g, 0.17-0.68 mg lysostaphin having activity of 50 to 200 U/g, 30-150 mg methoxypolyethylene glycol, 10-25 mg sodium alginate, 120-250 mg sodium phosphate dibasic dihydrate, 35-110 mg citric acid, and the remainder dextran. The thermostable composition produced can be used for manufacturing an oral care agent, a toothpaste, sanitary and hygienic agents and products, a laundry conditioner and a condom lubricant, and a range of medical products and drugs.
