To provide novel medicines for the prevention and/or treatment of viral diseases such as influenza and hepatitis B; cancers, such as leukemia, melanoma, non-Hodgkin' s lymphoma, and renal cell cancer; intracellular protozoan infection; and intracellular bacterial infection, such as tuberculosis.SOLUTION : A pharmaceutical composition for stimulating the immune response in a subject comprises a therapeutically effective amount of a thiazolide compound, the thiazolide compound being RM-4848 or a salt or polymorph thereof, the thiazolide compound being administered in combination with a vaccine, an immune stimulant, a neuraminidase inhibitor, an adamantine analogue, or a recombinant sialidase fusion protein.
