Ultrasonic examination (US) of an eyeball is performed, wherein the ultrasonic sensor is transpalpebral through a flat part of the ciliary body. OD volume is quantitatively estimated using optical coherence tomography (OCT) using the Macular Cube OCT protocol with size of 6?x?6 mm. If OD volume is less than 11 mm3 with simultaneous absence of hyperechoic rounded inclusions in OD projection by ultrasound findings, conclusion is made on the absence of OD drusen.
