First marker region is configured to transmit light at a first wavelength and to prevent light at a second wavelength, wherein modulation of light intensity is determined by time-varying reflection from skin at a first wavelength. Second marker region is configured to transmit light at a second wavelength and to prevent light at a first wavelength, wherein modulation of light intensity is determined by time-varying reflection from skin at a second wavelength. Reference area of the marker with a given reflection characteristic corresponding to the passing wavelength of the marker region is configured to calibrate the detection unit. Reference area is opaque and reflects light incident on it. Detection unit is configured to detect radiation received from first and second marker regions.
