FIELD : medicine.SUBSTANCE : invention relates to medicine, specifically to ophthalmology. For surgical treatment of convergent strabismus, previously operated muscles perform anesthesia, surgical field treatment, eyelid extensions and access to internal rectus muscle. Internal rectus muscle is separated and stretched on two muscle hooks, in the area of future cuts of muscle is applied a clamp, after removal of which is performed Z-shaped peripheral myotomy on internal rectus muscle, for which scissors make edge incisions along the upper and lower edges of the internal rectus muscle perpendicular to its axis. First incision is made from the distal edge of the internal rectus muscle by 2/3 of its width, and the second incision is made from the proximal edge of the internal rectus muscle by 2/3 of its width at distance of 3–5?mm from the first notch. After the incisions are made, muscular hooks are removed, the wound is closed with the help of absorbable Vicril 8-0 thread. Dexamethasone preparation with an antibiotic is administered under the conjunctiva. Eyelid extender is removed and a monocular aseptic dressing is applied.EFFECT : method enables relieving tonus of previously operated rectus muscles, which creates favorable conditions for binocular vision and improved quality of life.1 cl
