A method for gum protection relates to the field of medicine, and specifically to dentistry, and is designed to isolate a gum during splinting, when treating advanced-stage chronic generalised and localised periodontitis. The proposed method for gum protection is aimed at obtaining the following technical result : reducing injury to the gum and ensuring the immobilisation of loose teeth, making it possible to retain the natural configuration of interproximal cavities during splinting. The problem of interest is solved by the fact that the method for gum protection during splinting consists of the following : mixing two components of a silicone impression compound until a homogeneous compound is obtained, and injecting said compound into each interproximal cavity with the aid of a syringe.
