The variable mattress in the car, convertible to a cuboid and to a raised seat, consists of a (2-part) 3-part foam pad. The foam pad is made to the ideal height and ideal hardness as desired, and is thus as comfortable as the best hotel bed. Everything is connected and can be separated by means of a zip fastener. The special feature of the invention is that the pads can be unfolded from about 162 cm to 190-200 cm, e.g. for long estate cars, tents and the like. Folded down as head-raising support.
