A description is given of a passenger car, designed as an estate car (1) with a pivotable hatchback (2), which car has a sliding roof (6). The latter adjoins, with a sealing strip (8), an upper edge (9) of a rear window (3), which can be embedded within the hatchback (2). An effective seal is obtained in the corner region between a rear pillar (13), sliding roof (6) and rear window (3) by virtue of the fact that it is not only the rear window (3), but also, laterally adjacent thereto, a wall section (5) having a window seal (24), which bears against the sealing strip (8) as components of the hatchback (2) when the sliding roof (6) is closed. A gap (26) formed thereby is covered in the upper region of the wall section (5) by a roof (5a). A roof bevel (5b) of the roof (5a), together with a notch (27) on the upper edge (9) of the rear window (3), brings about an improved sealing and drainage of water at the gap (26).
