A seal for sealing between outer and inner parts, having a fixing portion and a sealing portion with at least one sealing lip, has its fixing portion and/or its sealing portion provided with a magnetised material so as to be magnetically attracted to the part it engages. Preferred embodiments are main seals 20 or secondary seals 19 for the journals and bearing cups of Hookes universal joints.
