PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To improve the efficiency of record retrieval by a user when a discrete system record group is initially displayed. SOLUTION : In a data base 10 wherein information on respective buildings in a real estate map 200, coordinate data on the center of gravity of the building group are further registered as a gravity center point record. The coordinates of the center of gravity can be found by finding the mean of the position coordinates of respective records. This gravity center calculation is performed, for example, periodically. Then when a command for real estate map inquiry is inputted from the user to the computer, the computer reads the gravity center point record out of the data base 10, calculates the arrangement position of each record on a display screen so that the gravity center point matches the reference point of the display screen, and displays an initial screen on the display screen.
