A method is disclosed for brokering real estate transactions is disclosed whereby a broker allows a user to sell at least one first property and purchase at least one second property via a computer communications network. The method includes the steps of : (a) the broker purchasing a first property from the user; (b) the broker offering at least one second property to the user for purchase; (c) the broker receives from the user a selection of at least one second property selected from those offered by the broker to the user for purchase; (d) the broker transferring the sale proceeds from the sale transaction of the first property to the user, for use in purchasing the second property selected in step (c); and (e) executing a purchase transaction of the second property selected in step (c). The sale proceeds of the sale transaction of the first property is used as payment towards the purchase of the second property.
