A sign assembly for supporting a sign, such as an estate agents "for sale" sign, comprises a support 13 and a bracket 12 for mounting a sign board to the support. The bracket is rotatably coupled to the support and arranged to rotate with respect to the support about the longitudinal axis of the bracket. The end face 15b of the bracket is inclined and biased into abutment with a similarly inclined end face 16a of the support. The biasing means may comprise a spring and/or gravity acting on the sign. The biasing means cause the bracket to rotate so that the sign returns to a desired orientation after the sign is rotated by the action of the wind. The support may comprise a post or mast and a the bracket may fix to the support by means of a rod 17 extending from the top of the support engaging with a hole provided in the bracket.
