This invention concerns the estimation of real estate values. In particular it concerns a method for automatically providing an estimate of a real estate value to an enquirer. Value distribution of real estate in a particular street are stored in a database. The enquirer uses a user operable means of comparison to indicate the relative value of a single property in the street relative to the others. This indication of relative value is then registered by a computer system using the distribution. The estimated value is then displayed to the enquirer, tn further aspects the invention is an interactive website and software to operate such a website in accordance with the method.
