PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a device and method for retrieving a real estate image, to accurately retrieve an image relating to a real estate according to the preference of a user, on the basis of an image designated by the user. SOLUTION : A real estate image retrieving device 10 includes a real estate image DB 31 and a preference DB 32, and accepts designation information indicating whether a user prefers images of areas constituting images relating to real estates, which are stored in the real estate image DB 31, and identification information of the user, to cause the preference DB 32 to store them. Then, in response to accepted search instruction information, the real estate image retrieving device 10 acquires images showing the preference of the user, which are associated with identification information of the users included in the search instruction information, from the preference DB 32, and retrieves images relating to real estates, which are determined to include images of favorite areas and are determined not to include images of unfavorite areas out of the acquired images showing the preference of the user, from the real estate image DB 31.
