The present invention relates to a thermal treatment method for wood and a wood material with enhanced durability and decay resistance. More particularly, the wood and the wood material which are treated with a thermal treatment catalyst and are thermally treated (carbonized) can preserve the natural environment and can be used for construction materials. Moreover, the wood and the wood material have durability and decay resistance which are significantly increased by thermal treatment at low temperatures while maintaining adsorption properties, humidity adjustment properties, electromagnetic wave blocking properties, flame retardant properties, and an air purification function.
