FIELD : medicine; pharmaceuticals.SUBSTANCE : group of inventions relates to pharmaceutics, specifically to a method of producing an aqueous composition sterilized by heating and containing solubilised chitosan and glycerol, where said composition is a transparent and viscous solution with pH from 6 to 7, 5, wherein said method includes the following steps : (i) solubilising chitosan with average molecular weight of 10 to 250 kDa and degree of deacetylation greater than 60?% in an aqueous solution of a weak acid having a carboxyl group, wherein molar ratio of carboxyl group (-COOH) of said weak acid to amino group (-NH2) of said chitosan ranges from 1 : 0.9 to 1 : 1.1; (ii) adding glycerol; (iii) bringing pH to 6–7, 5 by adding an aqueous solution of a weak base; and (iv) steam sterilization.
