The invention relates to chemistry and medicine, namely to a biologically active coordination compound of copper from the class of transition metal thiosemicarbazonates. This complex inhibits the mycobacterium tuberculosis H37RV proliferation processes and can be used in medicine for the prevention and treatment of tuberculosis.According to the invention, claimed is (?ethane-1, 2-diol-O, O' )-bis{[N-(2, 3-dimethylphenyl)-2-(oxy-3-methoxybenzylidene)hydrazinecarbothioamido(1-)]aquacopper(II)} nitrate compound of the formula : , which inhibits the mycobacterium tuberculosis H37RV proliferation processes.The compound expands the arsenal of Mycobacterium tuberculosis proliferation inhibitors with high biological activity.
