Abstract In vitro culture techniques are sustainable alternatives to the large-scale production of economically important plant species. Morus alba is an essential species that is mainly considered to be economically important due to their potential use in silk production, medicine and food. In this work, we evaluated the effects of different concentration of WTR-CDs on the In vitro, ex vitro growth of M alba {In vitro ). In vitro , cultures were maintained on Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium without any growth regulators. Plants developed on medium supplemented with WTR-CDs concentration, had shown changes in their growth, significantly influenced the development of M alba in an in vitro culture, which resulted high shoot length, fresh/dry biomass in plants. The results showed that WTR-CDs potential application in In vitro culture is an important for plant propagation. Also ex vitro effect on plant propogation was checked. These results can be used as an alternative eco-friendly, biodegradable and cost-effective substitute for plant growth stimulator that are helpful for plant propagation during plant production program. Time consuming and low germination ratio of seeds are the most restricting triggers for commercial use for large-scale cultivation of plant species. Use of WTR-CDs in ex vitro and In vitro both culture techinque is an appropriate alternative approach for large-scale production of plants within a short period of time.
